How come the weigh ins are so much earlier at this turnament than most others?

I believe they are earlier because they have to draw up most of the brackets after weigh-in. I think that is because of the weight max difference rule. Especially in heavy weight.

Thanks, that makes sense. But it sure messes up the work schedule, especially when you live more that 2 hours away.

How would you like to make the brackets, get all the copies of the brackets needed (wall, parents, tables, director) printed off and ready to go by the next morning? And this year they added a new weight class, so they have even more work!

Not me!!!

Coach JT, I wouldn't like to have to do all the work at the last minute I'm sure it's a hassle even if you have plenty of time. If you notice from my screen name it's "new2wrestling" I'm new to all of this and just asking. I didn't mean to upset you or to step on anyones toes. I was just comparing it to last weeks times.

I think that was a fair question to ask.

I didn't mean for it to come off as I was upset or cutting you down for your question. I do think it is a good question because you don't see other tournaments that have weigh-in's at that time.

When we do our tournament we do the brackets the Sunday before, I was just letting people know that the people running it has a lot of work to do in a short time. I am sorry if I sounded short with you that was not my intention.

Good Luck this weekend and make sure you are early and down to weight before you enter the weigh-in room. All those kids in 2 hours? it could be a little crowded.
