insurance for who. if your kid gets hurt your own insurance will take care of it first. i work for the insurance so i know how it works. i really dont think you are all seeing the picture i am painting. so let me slow down for those who are slow in understanding my point. the 6 and under kids are doing exactly what all the other age groups are doing. paying the same amount, going to the same practices, wrestling the same tournaments. They are not getting a chance to compete against the same age level in the end. That just does not make a damn bit of sense. If there is an age group for that and they are paying for it then give them what they have worked all damn year for and that would be a reward in the end. The good job and boy im glad you had fun doesnt always work. They see the older brother bringing home a medal or trophy that says state on it and thats what they want. Ok. Ok. See ya all in Ottawa. Make sure you all have fun.

A lively debate!! But please, let's be cautious in our tone and in our analogies!!

i checked it. i already apologized for that. now lets move on and get this 6 and under thing taken care of. take this to your board. if those kids have to pay the same thing as the older kids then add the 6 and under to the state. if not then take the fees away. they are of no use. i will use my own insurance anyways.

My two cents, which I will probably keep adding until I get a dollar's worth.
6U are getting screwed. I don't have a six and under and I am still of that opinion. I believe District 2 and 4 supported 6u state while District 1 is totally against it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Some 6U are ready to compete at the state level. Many beating out 8U at state. I'm sure some of the 8U would like to see a 6U to get some of them little monsters out of their brackets. It is not up to anybody but the parents as to when a kid is ready. Yes some parents will make the wrong decision, but it is still their decision to make. I don't care about the ESPN poll. That is what people think is best for their kid. The parent should still get to be the parent. To let the state tell us what to do is...you'll like this one WILL...communism. Make the oportunity available so we don't have the problem we have now of 2 state tournaments.
We are not really censoring the word damn are we? Especially in the text it was used.

The state of Kansas isn't telling us what to do. Our own organization is telling us what to do. We vote to not do it. Repeatedly. We as a whole do not want it. That is democracy. A majority of the teams in the USAWKS vote against it.

The problem is that no one has ever presented 6U state as a tournament that is stand alone. I think the majority would embrace a true 6U state if it wasn't proposed as an add on to a state tournament that is already too big.

like you said windjammer(whoever you are and junior club your with) if the body voted it down then why is the state still making them pay fees and giving them an age group to wrestle in. If it was voted down then there should be no 6&u age division only 8&u if that age group was voted in. But there is a 6&u division so therefore the state must feel it is important to have so then there should be end of the year tourny's just like all the other ages that are in Kansas. Mr Windjammer do you feel it is right for your son the high school wrestler to drop down to kids in March and wrestle in a state tourny and all the 6&u who have been traveling to tourny's for 4 months not get the chance to compete with the others on the state level.

ok darn it. now im pulling my hair out. we pay the darn fees. we should be included in the darn state tournament just like the older kids that pay those same exact (to the penny for you slow people) fees. they should not be forced to move to the 8 and under division because the darn tournament is too big. am i talking to a brick wall or do i need to draw another picture for some of you. look at it this way. is it fair that the 6 and unders do everything that the older kids do and not get included as part of the state with their own age division. somebody that dis-agrees please draw me a picture that would explain why the 6 year olds do everything the same but get left out. I want it drawn out in detail. I am kinda slow sometimes to.

Ok, here comes the picture...the state body needs someone to bring it up in October...someone needs to second it...and then the state body (every sanctioned club) needs to vote and approve it.

Hopefully this will happen before everyone leaves the meeting!! Out of curiousity, when this was voted on in the past, were half the clubs gone?

i heard only one club was there and well thats just what i heard. you know how hear say gets things started. i really think if the right people are there it will make too much sense not to add it back in. I guess if not then oklahoma will start getting more 6 year olds.

if it is about numbers and room at the state tourny then we might ought to move it to a bigger venue. The Salina tourny had approx. 1500 entries and were done by 7-8ish. It was a 1 day tourny with 6&u in it. If you add the 6&u to the state tourny you have approx. 1800 wrestlers. Only 300 more than Salina but you also have an extra day. So I cant buy the not enough room for 6&u there.
I say lets start a poll or vote on here and see what caoches and parents would like for their own 6&u.
1 vote for adding 6&u at state from me.
