I really agree with the above post by my2boyz. At any age its really about getting ready for high school. I know some of the parents who have posted on this thread really want their kids to be able to go to state. But, they fail to consider the logistics of it. They talk about fairness, etc. Life is not that easy. I believe most of us have our kids in wrestling because it will prepare them for the ups and especially the downs of life. One on one on a mat is nothing like basketball or football. Will C. gave a good suggestion. If you like it or not, at least there is a plan put forth. This forum is great, just look at the Missouri forum to see how much more advanced we are than them. This forum should provide for an exchange of ideas that allows us to correct/improve things. Either we find a way to give 6U's a sanctioned kids state or it stays the way it is - 2 tournaments competing. But, putting them at the current state tournament will not work. And, I like the idea of moving the 16U to the other side at state and giving more room to the other kids.
Finally, smokey is right, life was never intended to be fair. Teaching our kids that at an earlier age will help them cope with life much better.
This issue comes up every year, if you support it come up with an idea to make it work - or pick between the other 2 options.
