Yes, Capul looked like a strong wrestler and the size did not matter to him. Congrats to him.

I wasn't complaining. I just wanted to clarify that we weren't the ones wanting to wrestle less skilled wrestlers.

I felt like each match my son wrestled was a match that he could have competed well and could have won each match, had he wrestled differently. Each kid was tough and he learned something from each match.

Thank you for allowing us to come down and wrestle. We look forward to coming back in the future.

As far as the weight classes in Kansas... I just checked the website( http://www.usawks.com/Kids/Weights.htm ). It is not 88 and then HWT.

I just want to clear up a few things here!
We are not metal hunters and we are not afraid of giving up some weight. We weigh 99 lbs and wrestle 100 (when we can) or 110! We have done it for over a year and probably will continue to do so for a few more.
We were wanting to clarify some USA Wrestling Rules and address our concerns. We also wanted to maybe encourage the Maize people to maybe reconsider the way they do this next year. There was kids giving 12, 24, 31 & 37 pounds in the same bracket. There were 2 other brackets with a lot closer weights. Great competition is always encouraged and invited but it should never over shadow the rules. This was a USA sanctioned event that did not follow the rules. That's not my problem that is between USA Wrestling and the Maize people!
I also wanted to address the way the Maize people treated us when we brought it to their attention on Friday night! They were rude! The guy I talked to on Saturday was very nice and helpful! We were not "informed" in advance like Trenton was and it don't matter! We were there for a reason and we felt like we did a great job!
The 14 and U mat size issue is just another example.
We enjoyed the event! We enjoyed the competition!
We just thought we would use this fourm to address our concerns! I'm sorry the Maize people took it so personally! It was not intended to be that way!
Enjoy the rest of the year!
