The reason is because I was hopeing someone would step forward and answer some of the questions that have been asked. If someone will just point me to the minutes of the meeting where the elimination of this weight class was discussed and agreed upon. Only one person has stepped forward with a reason and even he admits to not knowing any of the facts.
I don't know the history of this weight class but if it got eliminated it was after careful thought and for good reason. Being able to partially fill an 8 man bracket once a decade is not a good enough reason to keep it around.
Well if this is the best anyone has then there are some more weights that need eliminated:

This sure looks similar to the 12 and under 60lbs. 240lbs never filled an eight man bracket and 215lbs only did twice.
Over half of the time 240lbs has 1 or 0 participants. The only reason that I am posting is because my kid is directly involved. I don't feel the need to put in my opinion on any topic that doesn't concern me or my family. If someone will just step forward with a good answer or any proof that this topic was discussed I will let it drop.
My son will do his best at 64lbs and hopefully advance to state again this year.
