thank you. that was the point I am trying to make about the first year wrestlers. I went through it with my son. He was 0-9 going into the andover tournament his first year. He won all three matches and placed first. That was where we ended the year. We kept going to practice but didnt wrestle any other tournaments. This is his 3rd year and he is winning but not always winning with wrestling moves. I do catch him throwing the headlock alot. My rule in practice is he cannot throw a headlock from his feet during practice cause I want him to learn how to wrestle. I didnt have what he has now. I want that with all these kids not just my own. He likes winning but I like to watch him learn and progress. I like to see him win but by actually wrestling and not relying on the headlock all the time. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help break him of this please help me. Thank you.
