The Russell Wrestling Club is excited to announce our second annual Russell Rumble tournament on Saturday, February 14th. We hosted the first Rumble last year, with 300 kids, and the day went very well with the exception of a late start due to scratches. Even so, the tournament was over by 2:30 pm.
The Russell Rumble showcases novice wrestlers as well as seasoned kid wrestlers. It is a 12 and under, round robin tournament and trophies are awarded to the top 5 places, in other words, every wrestler is rewarded with a trophy for their effort! We feel this encourages and boosts the confindence of some of the novice wrestlers who normally would not get medals or trophies.
The High School gym is very large and seats over 1000 people. It is wrestler and spectator friendly! Last year we gave a new bicycle away for the quickest fall and plan to have more give aways this year, also.
Russell has 5 motels, two with indoor pools, and 9 restaurants varying from fast food to family dining.
We are aware that there are several tournaments going on the weekend of February 14th and we would appreciate your clubs support of the Russell Rumble. We will do our absolute best to assure you and your wrestlers the best tournament possible! Thank You for considering The Rumble!!
