I thought they did.....thanks for clarifying Dagwood.

So take DIBLASI out of the earlier post and I would say that those 6 represent some of the top contenders at 37 for Ottawa (or Topeka).

and that all this is good but what are we really telling our kids if we say "that kid is tough"(who you have been beat by all year) so we should go down and wrestle litter kids and win kids stae my focous is on what happens later in life........but want his confidence to still be up.....but the kids that pull down is just to much...

I never said that Hughbanks weighed 38.6...I don't know what he weighs, but I know that he has wrestled 40 most of the year probably because his dad didn't want to wrestle the 33-35 lb kids who are younger and go at 37 lbs. My post was that he is probably between 37-40 (just my guess by looking at him) and that if he ends up at 37 lbs, he would be a contender!!! Let's don't turn this post (which is looking for contenders' names) into a post that calls out kids and coaches for cutting weight.

As a side note, my boy was weighing 37.5 to 38.0 just 2 months ago. He "cut" weight to go 37 at JOC and Tulsa Nationals. He "cut" the weight by spitting in a cup on the way to those weigh-ins which was 2.5-3 hours. "Cutting" or "pulling" weight would be someone dropping a few pounds to make weight. These kids' weight will fluctuate anyway, and spitting to encourage that fluctuation to move the way you need it to is not "cutting." If a kid who weighs 3/4 pound over 37 wants to make that weight, it is not difficult to do.

One more note to add: You can't assume what a kids' true weight is based on what bracket he is in. My younger son has alternated between 40 and 43 for most weekend tournaments and has been in brackets combined up to 49 lbs. when he weighed in at 38.9 lbs. The point is that you can't make assumptions re: a kids' weight based solely on what weight class he is competing in.

I want to clear everything up...... I don't care if my kid does not finish in the top 4......I know as a past wrestler it does not matter what he does now....it matters what he does later...and if you peope think that the past (post) I wrote think my kid is scared ....he don't even know there names...so what if he is not the greatest.. how many kids do you know that win all these big tournaments and not win high school state...I grew up with alot of them ....so good luck to all the 37-40lbs. that I know ...I was not trying to call anyone out just wanted opions......
