K-STATE TO HOST SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE COLLEGIATE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS- **This Weekend !! **
MARCH 1 AT PETERS RECREATION COMPLEX

MANHATTAN -- Collegiate wrestling club teams from schools across the region will take to the mats for the 2008 National Collegiate Wrestling Association's Southwest Conference Championships, Saturday, March 1, at Kansas State University's Peters Recreation Complex.

START TIME-Matches will get under way at 9 a.m. Club wrestling teams from K-State, Wichita State University, Newman University, Colorado State University, University of Colorado, Louisiana State University, Northwest Missouri State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas State University and Texas Tech University will participate.

COST for the day of wrestling action is $3 for children and $5 for adults; high school and college students can get in free with their student I.D. Concessions also will be available.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Championships, March 13-15, in Lakeland, Fla. The association was created to serve schools that no longer have varsity wrestling programs. More information is available at http://www.ncwa.net

It would also help if any one is aware of other KS wrestlers competing at any of the other attending schools. I know Newman out of Wichita has several. Please ADD to this thread !

WILL be in the national TITLE hunt !! .....Thanks

** Even better-if any adults out there from each kids club
would be willing to stick your neck out and say- hey I am from
####, KS kids club and will take 4 kids and so on.

Prob won't happen but would it not have been great to have a few reps from each kids club walking in wearing their indiv team colors and wearing a medal around their neck to show that this is where it starts. And see all those Kids Wrestlers in their colors dispersed throughout the gym !! Wow, ..that would be a good start !!
