The boys leave for Senior Nationals on March 26th. I am organizing practices in the Topeka area for the week prior starting March 17th. I already have a wrestling room scheduled and coaches (high school) set up to run the practices. All we need now are wrestlers.

If you are going to Senior Nationals (or Soph, Junior) and want to be involved in these practices then please let me know. These practices fall on Spring Break. If you live outside the Topeka area and want to be involved contact me and you can probably stay at our house for the week.

My goal is to have two workouts per day (maybe tapering off later in the week).

I do plan on paying the coaches a little bit and will ask each wrestler to donate ($20 to $40 depending on how many guys we have). Other than that there is no cost.

If you are interest then send me a private message or reply to this post

John -
I have emailed you. But just to make it clear --- I am only organizing practices. I have nothing to do w/ the trip.

Seniors traditonally go on an organized trip. Those who have already qualified have been contacted by those organizing the trip. I am sure the seniors who qualify at this years State will also be contacted.

Underclassman are on their own to make their own trip arrangments. Seniors must qualify for the tournament. Any underclassman can enter. I would anticipate the cost to be around $700.

Disney,

Thank you for setting up workouts in the Topeka area for the Senior Nationals. Shape is often a deciding factor in that tournament.

To be eligible for the Senior National Tournament, you must have been in the finals of your state meet sometime in your high school career. Those that have already met that criteria in Kansas have been contacted. If you do qualify this year and have not in the past, then there will be someone at each of the state tournaments with invitations and entry forms to be handed out. If you get missed contact Chuck Elvin at 913-888-8630 or Gary Ulmer at 913-782-8971.

To be eligible for the junior, sophomore, or freshman version of the national meet being in the state finals is not necessary. You need only to sign up for the appropriate tournament. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors you can find the necessary paperwork on the website http://www.nhsca.com. Kansas does not sponsor teams to those meets, but they are great meets to wrestle in. $700 is just about right for a total cost of getting to that meet, participating in it, and getting home. For the senors the cost will be somewhat less than that, in that they get group rates.

Barry, I have some experience working with heavyweights and would be willing to come and and work out with them.

Disney,

I would love to come and help(as long as I do not have to wrestle parks) with practice. Jordan Meyer needs to wrestle some other people besides me, I might also be able to bring Jason Pyle and Allyn Plattner depending on if they come home for spring break. I would love to get ahold of some of those litle guys myself-Colin Hase is about my size-20 years ago-but still close to my size.

Send me a pm about times and places and we can make the trip down from Sabetha.

Coach Brown,

I won't be there for the practices (going out of town.) But, I have a couple of great asst coaches who plan to run practices. If you can come down, that would be great. I will see you when we go to VA. Be sure to bring your knee brace this yr:)

Usually Chuck Elvin organizes this for Kansas but I did not know if that was still the case. He organized Hotel,Planes, meals, etc. If I am wrong I would like to know if it is now an individual effort on the kids etc.
