You can eat anything as long as you have a diet coke to wash it down. The calories are then balanced out. That's why I go to McDonald's and order a #1 with a diet coke.


In all seriousness, we have found the best way to watch weight is to have our sons take a bag of salad and a plastic fork with them to school. I open up the bag, lightly pour some fat-free salad dressing, squish it up to mix it up, close it with a twist-tie and off they go. I tell them they can eat as much of the salad as they want and they usually eat it all right out of the bag. To help mix it up, I may throw in some cut-up grilled chicken or sunflower seeds, or fruit into the bag as well. When they come home from school, they grab some fruit or a bag of baby carrots. For supper, everyone has Progressive Soup or Healthy Choice soup of their choice and a sandwich (usually turkey).
