Who will be tough at 6U58 at Ottawa? Any guesses on number of wrestlers at this weight.

6U - 58 CARTHAGE Zeke Sappington 1st
W GREATER GOLD Brady Bockover 2nd
GARDEN PLAIN Troy Fisher 3rd
PLAINVILLE Rachel Gilliland 4th

These are the top 4 at Wichita Classic. Look for them on Sunday. As for numbers cant guess an exact number but I would bet it will be a 32 man bracket.

dont know if he is still 58 but the Brendan Young kid from Lincoln whipped my kids butt in Salina. I would like to think he may be moving up to 61 as he looked bigger than my son and he looks big for 58. I think my son and Troy Fisher have about the same record and they both have a win against each other this year. hope that those 2 are the top 2 seeds and oppisite sides of the brackets. I have also heard of a kid from Coffeyville that is pretty tough to. As for anyone else not sure of who else is out there.

The Miller kid from Osborne is tough also. Friend of mine said he has won a couple tournaments. Don't know for sure though. Watched him once and he looked ok. Don't know if he'll go to Ottawa or not. Have watched Rachel Gilliland also and she is really good. Don't know what weight class (55 or 58) but there is a kid in Goodland (don't remember the name) that looks very good. Beat Miller in a very close match at Norton.

I have seen alot of kids in this weight bracket. I have even moved my son from 55 to 58 to 61 and back to 58 just for different competition. He has done well in all 3 weights. We have been to chanute, salina, winfield, derby, maize, hutchinson and hopefully have seen all the best kids in this weight bracket except for those kids out in northwest kansas. I havent gotten to see the kid from coffeyville but heard he is a tough kid to. With that said here is a list of names from tournaments that I have seen. Bockover from greater gold, fisher from garden plain, young from lincoln, shaffer from coffeyville, lautt from kc, and i think buoy from fredonia but heard he isnt going to ottawa. the robinson kid from ark city is tough to. do not under estimate that kid. he has beaten some quality kids this year. he is very well coached in that club to. should be exciting to see how they rank those kids and see the competition.

Yes, wish there was a way to find out what the brackets look like for Sunday. Is there any leaway on weigh-ins? Or will a kid be able to move up if they miss weight by a small margin. Hate to be a parent who drives several hours and their child can't compete because of a very small margin. At this age, you just never know when a kid may hit a growth spurt and with 2 weeks between entry dedline and tournament, anything can happen. My son, for instance gained 2.5 pounds in just about 3 weeks earlier this year.

Anyone know anything about Miller or Gilliland? Heard both were pretty solid wrestlers. I am looking foward to watching them and all the other competitors.

my understanding are, they will give leaway on a few ounce's thats it, my rule of thumb for the tournaments are 4 ounces most will let that pass, but at subs if your going i would be right on. and since it is a sanctioned tournament any one wrestling in subs could be given a 1 pound allowance, since wrestling in 2 consecetive days at 2 sanctioned tourny's . don't hold me to that i thought i read it in the rules. better be safe and make weight. untill we find out. and please do not hold me to anything these are my thoughts only.

I take it gilliland and miller are from north or northwest kansas. Have seen the names once or twice but most of those tournaments up there dont post results.

is that the smallest bracket of th 6 year olds. its been a small bracket at every tournament we wrestled this year. should make for better competition though.

if he shows up and wrestled hard he will be tough to beat. thats the problem he is getting hungry for baseball and thinking that might affect his wrestling just a bit.

the kid in goodland is Tayton Weeter 55# he is a kid with alot of heart and very very smooth. Iam pretty sure he has only lost one match this year at ellis at the last second then has beat the kid from then on.
Have your hammer cocked he gets after it.
