District 3 west started about 11am and I was there until 6pm or a little after for my son to get done with his matches..He did not wrestle his first match until 4pm and by then my daughter was almost done..Everyone in his bracket had wrestled and was over before he got his last match..Then they would change match numbers almost every bout time and they wouldnt always have the bout sheets at the table so the ref would have to go get them so we could start matches..Also my son was suppose to have 10 kids and in a 16 man bracket well 2 scratched and they left it a 16 man bracket instead of making it a 8 man and even though it was my son it was not fair because he had byes all the way to the preliminary round..he wrestled once and then was going for first or second..to me that is not fair..Then they moved some matches or wrestled them different numbers and then would call them up to the original mat to wrestle that match again..Not sure if it was like that on all mats but my kids was on mat 1 and it was so disorganized..I really hope now that they have it going Districts will be much much better and more efficent and over sooner..

It was close to 10 before D1S got started, and I'm not sure the reason. I just know that they said clear the mats at alittle after 9, and then said nothing else till about 10. So, they had wrestlers warming up by mat side thinking that they were going to be up at anytime for almost an hour.

Nix,
Even with the late start d4 south had the building cleared by around 3:30. It would have been even sooner if not for the
"fight" on mat 7. The tournament director and head ref were tied up for 30 - 45 minutes with that and were kept from moving some matches that would have helped it end even sooner. I thought that once the kids got started wrestling things went very smooth.

I know you were not complaining, it was frustrating for everyone in the gym. Folks were on the phone and working their tails off to get things going. The "fight" amounted to a kid getting crossfaced solidly and then not showing much sportsmanship at the handshake and hand raising. If you weren't tuned directly into the match you wouldn't have known anything had happened. I just wish we would have had more people stick around and help roll up and move mats!! I got some free pizza out of the deal so i shouldn't complain.

This is a shout out to the folks from Sub Distric North 1....Tourney ran well due to all of the dedicated volunteers involved with the Jackson County Wrestling Club...along with support staff from Mark Stanley's group and the clubs who brought table workers. (We will also be there to help out with 6u State in Topeka and Districts..thanks for the continued help.) We had alot of parent volunteers to purchase concession items, set up concessions, learn track wrestling, organize sign up sheets for subs, organize weigh in cards, work tables, bout runners, lunch , concessions, weigh-ins, coaches passes, set-up and clean up. Kudos to Barb Sheilds and all of our faithfull worker bees...our coaches and the wive's of the coaches, parents...and our kids! If everyone was not involved in some small way it would not have gone as smoothly as it did! It takes more than 2-3 people to run a tournament of this size.
To help with a tournament of this size the volunteers give up their time to help...and sometimes miss watching their own kids matches.... so thanks to all who helped make this tourney a success! And...we started with 42 kids from JCWC going into Subs and have 30 going onto Districts! Way to Go Wrestlers!!!
Good Luck this Weekend!
