I was at the seating meeting last week and we also voted to hold district 1 in topeka next year and I asked the board if we should try it this year and see how it went and then vote on it in the fall and after a lot of talk we voted and it was voted to hold district 1 again in Topeka.
Yes it was a good place to hold it but no one said a word about every car in the parking lot was charged 3.00 dollars. Now next week at state they tell me there will be no charge, so as I see it the people of district one got took and I was told by my mother when growing up if it sounds to good someone going to get took and the people of the first district were it today.

Tom, I too was surprised about the 3.00 fee for parking. I do feel it was a good deal to pay 3.00 & in the process let our wrestlers get somewhat acclimated to the venue for next week. I'll bet ya D2,3&4 would have paid for that kind of opportunity. Did you buy chance feast on the 5.00 dippin dots? We did after the finals. A cheap bribe for my 10 year old to win District. Again, happy to pay it.

should have been at hay's, the tournament was ran well, started close to on time, but that was way to small of a place to hold districts. so many people in a small space made for a long day.

Well Patrick no I did not pay 5.00 for dippin dot but district 1 gets a pecentage of that not the parking and yes I am as dum,I bought a bottle of water for 2.50. We never had to pay for parking at other sites and as I said the district 1 board members did not even know about it till sat morrning so egg is on there face as well as all who showed up. thanks I was not trying to start a fight but as I said maybe we should ask if any other districts had to pay for parking, and yes we could have waited till this fall to vote on a place to hold district 1 next year. No fight here Tom, I actually parked in the hotel parking lot because I did not have 3.00 cash to pay it. I was totally blindsided. It's just that it was so inconsequential compared to the atmosphere, competition, how well the tournament was run, how fast we were done (home by 4:15 & I helped roll up the mats) etc. that I had completely forgotten about it until your post.

Quit complaining. I've been to smaller places for districts. Where do you want districts Scott City? Now that's small. I bet Hays ran a good tournament and had some great food.

we had 507 kids at our high school in scott, and i will bet you any one that attended will tell you there was plenty of room. now can the same thing be said about hays, yes it was a great tournament, but crowded.

and as far as i bet they had great food, i would say all districts had great food, but i would not bet on it if i was not there.
but thats me. i never assume.

I've been to a tournament in Scott City with less than 400 kids wrestling in the tournament and it was crowded. The cafeteria is large. Or if two people disagree maybe it's a battle not a war! LOL, LOL I just crack myself up.

i should also say thanks to hays, great tournament,GREAT FOOD, it was ran well, just thought it was a little crowded, but thats what we get for having so many great wrestlers in western kansas.

was that before or after we spent 15 million on our high school or some where around that amount. that amount sounds high but i do believe that is what we spent will correct amount if i am wrong. but we reworked the entire school.

We were there 3 years ago so I don't know when you spent 15 million for the school but I bet It was before because it was a very new facility. Did you get to roof it?

I've been to a Hays tournament at the high school when they had 860 wrestlers at a tournament. Now that's CROWDED!!!!!!!!!!!!
