I'm not meaning to rain on anyones parade but really guys give the messaging back and forth a rest. I would venture to guess and correct me if I'm wrong <moderators> but the boards of late have been swaying more for some as a means of like what one would use yahoo or msn messenger for. Sure there are times when a direct response/reply to a particular subject is warranted but am I alone in feeling that there is waaay tooo much direct talk messaging back and forth. Come on guys, that is what the message capabilities for this site are for. I like to come to these boards to keep updated on new topics affecting USAW-KS wrestling and also those weighing in on those topics and yes even a ~little~ (key word) humor and bantering amongst those weighing in BUT, ..not to be witness to your unnecessary (at least for ALL eyes on these boards) bantering back and forth about silliness that is dirtying up the forums. ....And NO , I don't want to hear it that you dont HAVE to read it. Yes, you make it necesary to filter through all your junk because the world evolves around you and your personal conversations and views on everything under the sun. ....PLEASE for the sake of others, have a little respect and use the PMs (Personal message option) for your PERSONAL conversations non-wrestling.

How do others feel, am I alone ?

It sure would be nice to come on here to get updated in about 1/4 the time it is now taking (time I could be doing something else of a little more significance than keeping up with some of your personal lives on a daily basis) because of the need to scroll through PERSONAL conversations that go on and on and your need to crack yourself up and assume and be funny.

I apologize as I seriously am not meaning to offend but durn its getting to where its annoying!

AM I .....alone ??

If you are talking about the silly banter back and forth I would agree. But then again I would like to see all the "who's tough at this age and weight", banned too. I don't mind the debates about serious subjects.
The problem with the private messenger on this board is we have had some classless individuals post private messages to the public board. Once it has been demonstrated that privacy is not assured with the PM function, it is worthless.

In an attempt to enjoy this (in my view) special day I will wholeheartedly agree and not provide my personal thoughts for a few hours.

agree 100%.I loved this forum when I first started to read it,but with in the last six weeks or so there are 4-5 people that have lost the intetions of this forum. If you have 10 post on one topic in 1hr.you are instant messaging. If you have 300-400 post in 6-8 weeks you are instant messaging.Use it for what its for not personal pleasure!!!!!!!!!

I usually look at the topics to determine if it is a thread that I want to follow. If you have seen that a thread is going in a direction that you consider a waste of time don't continue to follow it. Pretty simple time management skill right there.

I agree that at times our forums have become too conversational! And, I too, have fallen into the trap a few times!!

I also agree with SF02 about all the hunting to find what every body's opinion is on a certain bracket or weight!

While we're at it ... it really gets tough to read a message that is 40, 50 or 60 lines long with out a paragraph! Perhaps I break things up too much but I think it makes it easier for the reader!

And I do, have to read everything! At times, I come on the boards after talking 12-hours off I find it amazing that I have 30 topics to read through (that is excluding the "bump" topics.) Heaven forbid if I take 2-days off this time of year!

In the end, if THIS is all we have to be aggravated by, I will take it!!

Another thought I had...sorry for the quick turn around on my posts. This is a TALK forum, doesn't have to be a debate forum or a serious forum. It also says general discussion, so....

Then the word forum I believe, could be wrong, is a group talk situation. So when those 4-5 people are wanting to express a thought or emotion or just help relieve some post season stress they are in the right place. In my opinion.

It is unbelievable that some of you feel that the world exist exclusively for you. Why is it sooo hard to have a little consideration for others ?

No, your not in the right place meditz as if you feel the need to have a personal conversation then use the PM, exchange phone numbers, set up yahoo or msn messenger accounts with that person but this forum is not for those exclusive few whom have taken over the boards as if it was their playground in recent weeks.

This really doesn't have to be that big of an issue. Its happened but lets move forward by just having a little consideration. Not everyone wants to come on here and read what have become silly unnecessary personal conversations back and forth of a select few who whether they realize it or not are being inconsiderate.

At the very least start a thread with your own topic heading or if you are that egocentric your Member Name and everyone can to your own personal thread to leave you messages and perhaps you can eventually have a following of groupies like the grateful dead or american idol finalist and such being that some of you are so important that we need to hear your viewpoint on everything under the sun.

Its not rocket science fellas, ..just have a bit of respect.

Randy, ...
I way appreciate and very much respect all that you do for Kansas wrestling and im not singling you out as you are one of the nicest and respectful understanding moderators and are lighthearted and fun loving enough to participate in a little of the fun but you do it in moderation not 10-12 and in some cases (nix) 2 dozen post in an hour period. *help me if i'm wrong here Richard*

I admitedly enjoyed threads such as the juanita thread (its own thread and not mixed amongst other topics to stray totally off course which is happening often lately) but even in the case of the Juanita thread.. it did not consist of postings that were merely conversations back and forth with 2 and 3 word replies that happened in an hour period as that is fodder that we have to admit has gotten out of hand.

Lets just move on and not have a few of you (beeson, meditz) and I suspect there will be more try to defend their actions <those guilty of this> and continue to be smart alec and commedians.

Just use the PM's etc and lets move forward....Please ??

Careful, you just posted twice with no post in between.

And speaking of respect...If you are going to call people out by name...why don't you have the respect to sign yours.

"It is unbelievable that some of you feel that the world exist exclusively for you."

Sounds a bit hypocritical.

i will agree that i have made alot of post, alot humor, alot off topic and yes i should have used pm in alot of them. i will keep that in mind. but i am going to disagree with one thing.

if some one wants to make a topic on who's tuff at such and such weight or age, THAT'S THERE BUSINESS. as longs as it has to do with kansas wrestling. you scroll down the topic list and you see a who's tuff topic. well keep your eyes and fingers moving tell you find a topic that suits you.

just because you don't like it and can choose to even open the topic of who's tuff at such and such, does not mean it's a bad topic.

now if you click on it who's fault is it??? i do not think you should tell others what's to read, if it pertains to youth kansas wrestling, just because you don't like it. AND YES THAT WOULD PASS AS YOUTH WRESTLING.

I CAN SEE READING A TOPIC AND IT GET'S OFF TOPIC THATS ONE THING, BUT KNOWING WHAT THE TOPIC IS BEFORE YOU OPEN IT THEN COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. WELL I BETTER NOT GO THERE.

JUST LIKE THE SUB RESULT TOPIC, WIND JAMMER STARTED. AFTER A FEW DAY'S EVERYONE KNEW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT. BUT WE STILL HAD PEOPLE COME IN THE TOPIC AND READ IT AGAIN THEN COMPLAIN. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN CLICK ON IT IF YOU KNEW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT.
