I think that everyone needs to make the weight they signed up for! If it is about mat time then we can go to combined brackets and so on.
I think people making weight is a very important part of the sport. It this age 5 or 10 pounds can be a HUGE advantage. I have seen my youngest son (8&U) give as much as 30 pounds to another wrestler and my oldest son (14&U) gave 65 pounds in Tulsa.
MAKING WEIGHT IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCESS!
