Well there is a subdivision in the west part of town that is fairly new called Miller Park. This area is mostly single family homes of new construction ranging from $150,000 upwards of $600,000. In that area there are 31 houses that are completely leveled plus many more that suffered structural damage and cosmetic damage such as torn off shingles. KSU campus near where I live there were several buildings that had roof damage and glass breakage. A ton of tree damage in the path of the tornado. Compared to Chapman, Manhattan was far less severe. The newspaper reported the Tornado here in Manhattan to be EF4 classification but it's size was between 2 to 4 blocks wide which isn't that big so the destruction was limited to a swath on that wide. We were very fortunate here in town. Early esimates are between $20,000,000 to $50,000,000 just in the non KSU parts of town. KSU itself has $20,000,000 in damage.
