John McCain

In high school McCain held the EHS wrestling record for “Fastest Pin” for two years; his record was broken in 1954. In his senior year, he wrestled in the 127-pound weight class. Senator McCain also was a lightweight boxer while attending Annapolis.

The only thing I like about McCain. Having been a lifelong registered Republican, primarily due to PAST practices of fiscal restraint, I honestly believe my party has brought all this upon ourselves and our country by not insisting on a stronger candidate.

The other candidate is intrinsically evil supporting the unfettered taking of innocent human life, along with certain economic and social policies which give me major heart burn.

Sarah Palin received two votes from my wife and I and I am proud to say my 23 year old son, 21 year old son, 19 year old son, and just turned 18 year old daughter also support Palin.

Sticking with tradition, we all voted this morning.

Well said Richard. I believe his heroic acts during his time of captivity are another great part of McCain's "body of work". I too disagree with many of his politics, but he is definitely the "lesser of two evils", though calling McCain evil is over the top. I have sent many a "campaign fundraising solicitation" back to them with the simple statement: "I will support you as a candidate, as a party, as a organization, when and if you are willing to make the Fair Tax a part of your agenda. This includes support financially, and at the voting booth" Those things always have an envelope that says "no postage necessary if mailed in the US" so it doesn't cost me a cent!!

Nice to hear that Richard! Two points to make...

1. Setting aside Obama's Pro-Abortion, Anti-Traditional Marriage, Anti-Gun Ownership, Pro-United Nation's stances, he believes that the 40% of American's that PAY NO TAXES are the "hard working" ones. The small business owner that works from 6AM till 8PM is not?

2. If America's enemies are throwing parties tonight if he wins, then I want the other guy!

This topic should be moved to the "Other" forum. Please leave politics out of our wrestling forums.

With Obama's wealth redistribution plan this forum may turn into a ghost town, as we will not have time for such luxuries as talk forums! We will all be working our second third & forth job so our hard earned money can go to a slacker.

The topic title is "John McCain Wrestled" and this is a wrestling talk forum.

The topic title is very clear and no one is forcing you to read or reply to the topic.

Let the celebrations begin in Iran, Syria, North Korea, Russia, Venezuela and every terrorist camp. Their candidate won.

John McCain is a great hero to our country and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for his long term service to America... and though I voted for him, I believe he was the wrong choice to face the overwhelming hatred for Bush and the Republicrats that have destroyed a once great party. As the great Ronald Reagan once said when he described his former Democratic party, "my party left me", and now we are left with a potential for a new quote, "my country left me"! Although this forum is for wrestling talk and this topic should be in another forum (and I haven't posted on this forum for quite a while), I read the comments above and felt compelled to respond. I wonder why many more people don't hold the same values that have been displayed... it's the values that many of us in this area of the country hold with great pride, but obviously the people who were targeted by Obama supporters to vote in this election were convinced to vote with their hearts and not their heads. I love this country and I pray that we haven't witnessed a shift to a place of "Change and Hope" that we will regret in a few years. Chief Renegade is right in that those countries are celebrating, but I have a feeling that they may also be wringing their hands to make their impact felt as we have never felt before... God bless this country, and for those of you who felt the courage to voice your opinions here, don't lose hope that better days may be just around the corner when people wake up to reality!

Sorry for the rant, but I feel better now!
Good luck to all this season!

First, while this topic started out as a wrestling topic, it turned into something else and at the very least, imho, was never related to a kids discussion. That said, I did an article on my thoughts on the election at which you can see by

Here are my thoughts, the election is over, and as mentioned by McCain last night, and Obama, the time for healing is to start. I see little value in continuing to bring about discourse, nor do I personally see benefit in personal attacks. It is time to work on the things we agree on, debate things we disagree on, and move from there. Bush 43 has a couple of months to go and then Barack Obama is the next president of the United States. The office deserves respect, and in this great nation, he won the election and is the choice of her people. It would be a shame to see a wedge driven between those who love the sport of wrestling because someone chose to vote for a different candidate than we. Truth is, my hope is not, never has been in the president of the United States, I have a faith and a Savior who is bigger than that and as a result, my hope is in the things provided me by my Savior, not by my president. I will also do as my faith dictates, I will pray for our leaders, that they will rule with a wisdom given by God and that God will bless them.

Agreed Mike. Romans 13:1 sets it straight. I will also pray for this great country and it's leaders.

“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. (1 Tim 2:1-3)
