The Pratt wrestling team lost their home opener to #4 nationally ranked Labette on Thursday night, 39-3. Despite the disparity in scoring, the Beavers wrestled well, but early season mistakes cost them in close matches.

In one of the most unfortunate outcomes of the night, Scott Wise (who wrestled at 149 lbs) had a season ending injury that will require surgery.

The only win of the night came at 197 lbs with Tyler Downs. It was a hard fought match for both men, but Tyler came out on top with a takedown in overtime to win the match. The Pratt Beavers wrestle again on Sat., Nov 8th against Newman at 2:00pm. Coach Medrano would like to thank everybody that came and supported the Beavers on Thursday night.
