We are thinking of just scrapping the rankings all together and instead having a big qualifying tournament at the end of the year and then we will let the kids wrestle it out and see who is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc....

On a serious note, the rankings are a great way to get people excited about our sport. For example, we have a fairly large and fairly well-known dual tournament in Colby in December. One of the ways we advertise and "sell" our tournament to people around town is by saying how many ranked wrestlers will be attending and how many top 10 ranked teams will be competing. It really gets the people excited about the tourney and people will attend to see the #1 ranked guy in 4A wrestle the #1 ranked guy in 5A or to see a ranked Kansas guy wrestle a ranked Colorado guy. The "all-class" ranking will only add to that excitement!
