I hope im posting in the right area.... I need some input on this as there is no black and white rules with regards to it.

We have a particular wrestler in our club and the parents want him to wrestle / practice at our club and another club of which they have a friend running as well. They say the reason is so a friends son will also have someone to wrestle at the other club. I am concerned as the wrestler is carded under our club hence insurance or claims if an accident occur also falls under our club charter.

Any advice or comments will be appreciated. Thank you

What is the situation of the kid and the parent wrestling, do they live out of town or go to another club in the same town? I am in a similar situation. My club know's my situation and understand's,{at least I hope they do}. If they don't, all they have to do is tell me.

We all live in the same town and within miles of each other. Just that the other guy only wants to coach older kids... 6th grade & UP. But he has a younger son who wants to wrestle the other boy. I dont mind any of this but I am really concerned if any kind of accident was to happen..... The wrestler is filed under our club not the other one.

As far as insurance goes, some might go with usa insurance if something was to happen, but I would have to say most have insurance beside's USA and would probley use it instead of a hassle with the paperwork and so fourth of USA. jmo. I do understand what you are saying. I just wouldn't depend on anyone else insurance in our family, more of a hassle than anything.

If you have a USA Card and you are attending a practice for a USA Sanctioned club the USA insurance is applicable. That is if your practices are being conducted in the site that you applied your insurance to or if you have purchased the additional site insurance and received approval to use an additional site. It is just like going to a tournament that is hosted by another club.

That makes sense.. and backs other answers received. But funny enough it has come to light that the point of it was to encourage other wrestlers to go to the other club....

I had a couple of concerned parents approach me and say that they were asked to join them... and that little wayne wrestler was going here and there as well. We have a very tight knit club minus the parents in question. it is however the point of the matter to which I am irritated... that they would do that. And I was warned by others not to allow it as it would cause conflict and certainly has.

As this is only our 3rd year running this club... Tell me does this kind of undercut and disrspect happen often.. and how have some of you others dealt with it.

To make it clear****
I have no problem club wrestlers fitting in a practice at another club or attending clinics or any of the above, In fact its encouraged.. I have a problem with another club trying to recruit our current club members.

You know this line "Build it and they will come." Well, if they didn't build it right no one would have. It is a true free market situation. If a club is good enough wrestlers will come. If not they won't. I have heard HS coaches who have complained about a "town's wrestlers" going to another town to wrestle kids. A good coach would say "Awesome!" they are willing to go the extra mile to get better. You cannot improve wrestling the same partner every night especially if you are already better than them. Bottom line, create an environment that no one would want to miss out on and you won't have these issues. Have great practice partners for everyone or let your wrestlers who don't go where they need to go. I really don't understand these clubs who treat wrestlers as possessions...

All clubs have as you put it " these issues " I think our club has done well to create a very positive wrestling enviroment. No one from the club has or as far as I know is going anywhere. As I said in the prior post... It was the point and the act seemed underhanded to me thats all. The other club has only 3 wrestlers and they need more. its not a case of better or more practice partners here you see. its I need your wrestlers to start a club... maybe we should refer some of yours to them ? I bet you wouldnt be very happy huh ! You almost sound defensive in your post wink If any of our club members want to go anywhere else... as I said I am fine with it but as I stated... it's the way it was approached. Heck, in the past we have even had a few attend your shindigs.

O ya ! and I wanna be a good coach so as you said above

" Awsome "

All pretense aside ... I do appreciate feedback on this and yes I / we may treat the club wrestlers like possesions... BUT dont you take better care of the things you own and cultivate by hand.
They are our young boys and we care for them, nurture the sportsman in them, encourage them, and yes even teach them a thing or two about the great sport of wrestling.
