Meaning no disrespect to those entering the tourney with losing records - I just bring this out as a point of discussion, I had some time on my hands and did the following:

(number below is kids with records of 500% or less wins)

WT 6a 4a

103 6 2
112 3 0
119 3 0
125 5 0
130 0 1
135 4 0
140 2 0
145 3 1
152 1 1
160 5 0
171 4 1
189 4 0
215 3 0
285 1 0
______________________________________
total: 44 6

6a: only one weight class that had no losing records in it (130).

4a: NINE weight classes with no losing records in it.

I'm not a 'math man'. But the numbers seem to indicate to me that it is more challenging to make state in 4a rather than 6a. I don't want to try to draw out any other conclusions other than that. I am just providing the numbers for the group to discuss if they so desire.

And, again - no disrespect to those going into the tourney with a losing record. You are still competing in the world's greatest sport -- ONE on ONE which takes tremendous courage no matter what one's record is.
