I think you missed the point David. The freeze frame was used simply as a point of reference to where any referee could have established in his mind that a wrestler had gained control. If you watch the video in full motion you would see that this position was held longer than the moment it took to grab this frame out of the video. In point of fact I counted 3 seconds from the time Nelson hit the mat until the time it was blown out of bounds. That is not to say that Feldkamp had control for those 3 seconds but between the time that Nelson was on his back to the time when the whistle was blow for out of bounds there was plenty of time for control to be established and it was.
As far as judgement is concerned that is one thing you are right about, it was a judgement call, unfortunately people just can't leave it as that.
