Mom, you must have raised him right. Vegetables at a buffet? That's unheard of today. Mine go straight for the ice cream.

It shows. There is not an ounce of fat on that kid. My son wrestled him a couple of times and could not do alot with him. There are a bunch of very strong and hard working kids in this bracket. Hey mom if I'm not mistaken Caleb has a little brother that is going to look just about like him.

I just realized why I remember the Ehlers kid. Not so much remember him, but remember a kid he wrestled. The Ehlers kid is pretty good sized but there was a kid from Junction City that made him look small...I think his name was Cason or Cassoon, something like that. I just went through the district brackets and don't see Cason/Cassoon's name anywhere. Does anyone know what happened to him? I saw him at a lot of tournaments but don't see him on any of the sub/district brackets.

Yes his name is Immanuel Cason from Wrecking Crew wrestling club. He is a tall kid like Franklin but not nearly as skilled. He was not at any of the subs but I'm not sure why.

With all the weather that is supposed to move into the area, I just wish everyone safe travels to Topeka and hopefully all will make it so we can see some of the matches we've been looking forward to/talking about.

Several of you were wondering about Diederich from Northwest Kansas. He hasn't been seen in Topeka before because he had chosen to shorten his wrestling season in previous years to play soccer. His passion is wrestling, so he has decided to quit soccer. He's a big boy for a 6th grader...almost 6 feet tall!

Joseph Mcconnell is only a first year wrestler. And no dis-respect to any others at this weight class but my money says that he is in the championship he is a very built 65 pounder and very strong. it will be interesting to watch this weight.

Jones and Franklin both make finals for match number 1,837 between the 2! (Or at least it seems like they've wrestled that many times.) It almost seems unfair for a couple of the kids in the bracket that haven't quite gotten to puberty like some of the others. That's the way it works out at this weight and age though.

I would like to congratulate all the placers in this bracket. You worked your butts off and sent alot of good wrestlers home. Your bracket had some of the best matches of the weekend. Great job!

I agree. Caleb was worn out. He's made several comments today how tired he is. After his match on Saturday with Ehlers we had to stop at Walgreens to buy out their first aid supplies. He spent the evening with ice packs, icy-hot, heating pads, and ibuprofen. His neck is very sore. I'm glad everyone showed up to wrestle. I especially appreciate the extraordinary effort the western Kansas families made despite the weather. David Franklin

Thanks for acknowledging the western Kansas families! This was a very long trip for us! My son Rex took first in District to make it to state. He did not place at state, but was honored to be a part of such an awesome tournament. We have never seen such experienced kids in a 12 and under bracket. Everyone in this bracket should be very proud of their accomplishments in the sport of wrestling. It was an eye opener to the world beyond western Kansas. My son now knows what he needs to work for to be successful next year. Congratulations to all of the wrestlers and thanks for a great experience!

I couln't agree more. All the people from out that way had to make huge sacrifices especially with the weather. I hope all the kids in this bracket continue to wrestle and get better. My son placed sixth and we felt very fortunate to get that. He had to work his tail off. I hope to see you all next year wherever it may be.
