I am not really understanding how these proposed changes would necessarily decrease the numbers of kids wrestling in Western Kansas. Maybe it would somehow but I am not exactly sure why.

Wouldn't it be good for the kids to watch the older boys at their high school regionals and State tournaments? Also they would still in most places still be in the wrestling rooms with the older boys practicing. They would just be practicing freestyle/greco and not folkstyle. I think everyone would like to see freestyle/greco wrestling participation increase in the entire State of Kansas including Western Kansas.
