This has gotten totally stupid. I thought it was about KSHSAA stopping people from exercising their rights. If I am right consolidation is irrelevant - doesn't the State give each school district X amount of money per student - then the extra they spend above that is on their own - coming out of their own property taxes.. Which if I am right means I do not care how much the Western Kansas schools spend. Which also means Will did what he wanted - got the KSHSAA supporters in an up-roar and got a good laugh.

The point is the 3A schools are going to have to accept that kids are going to specialize. They are going to start just doing one sport thru high school. This means the football team is going to lose kids. In small schools if the athletes do not play all sports - some sports will not have enough kids for the school to field a team - threatening coaches. As such, KSHSAA is helping by making it difficult to specialize. That is what all these restrictions are about. But it is a losing battle. So lets debate this.

The point is - if a school wants to go to ANY tournament - why shouldn't they be allowed to.
