Public schools are "our" schools and private schools are not "ours". Catholic schools are private schools, and by Baptism shortly after birth, I am Catholic. I think you misunderstood his statement. He meant, Woudln't ANYONE want Eric Mason to attend THEIR school. In other words, promoting your school to a prospective student to attend there. Specifically, Eric was stating that he would have liked to have had Eric Mason attend SME.

Promoting and recruiting are not the same thing. (Not that you were saying they were Richard, just making an additional point.)
