the taco eating champ resides in pittsburg- 57 tacos in 1 hour at 5th street bar and grill, he also beat the gorilla pizza challenge at wheat state pizza. i don't think he has ever "watched" his weight though.

Yes. And you won't ever have to leave home to get it.

I say we move the contest to the always delicious Taco Bell since you can find a location in every major Kansas town and each state in the Union if your team can travel the 500 mile limit.

Don't get so defensive!!!!! I just would have to see it to believe it, shrunken stomach or not. I have eaten 19 at Taco Tico before, and could have probably put a few more down, but the competition had already folded, so I didn't want to run the score up on them, the good sport that I am. I guess I just have to accept the fact that I may not be as good of an eater as I thought!

But Taco Shop is the originator .. But I do understand your logic. We can have a sort of satelite taco challenge, where ever your team can find taco's (taco shop, taco bell, taco tico, etc.) and let the battle begin.

We can also have a senior division for us old guys (soda's optional) .. and crown a senior division champ

While I'm a big (and fat) supporter of the Taco Bell dining experience, there is no substitute for the "All you can eat" for 3.89 aspect of the challenge. We all want more opportunities for kids, and by making them pay "buy the taco" we are essentially cutting kids from the opportunity to compete. Pretty basketball-minded if you ask me. smile

As the originator of the first Post State Taco Eating Championship, held at the famous West and Central location, I failed to present a proper trophy to the winning team. If I can get a commitment from no less than six teams this year, there will be a trophy for the champion eater and championship team this year! A prize will also be given to the winner of the old-timers bracket.

Mark your calendars for March 8th at the West and Central location. Starting time~TBA.
