I copied this from themat.com. KS is #19 in these rankings. Of course, we are handicapped by NOT being able to compete in the big 3 but it is still a fairly accurate assessment of where we stand against the rest of the nation.
Here is a breakdown of the rankings. I assigned points from 20 to the 1 seed down to 1 for the 20 seed. 40 States have at least one wrestler in the rankings. No real surprise that PA, NJ and OH lead the way in total points. It is after that that things get somewhat interesting.
One other note is that the wrestlers are listed by the state in which they go to school so Evans goes to NJ, Kitzis to PA, etc.
State Total Points Ranked Wrestlers PA 459 36 NJ 341 27 OH 309 27 IA 162 16 NY 140 14 IL 138 15 CA 120 14 MI 105 9 OK 104 10 MO 100 8 DE 89 8 IN 80 8 MN 71 9 WI 69 8 VA 64 7 SD 49 5 WA 47 3 AZ 46 4 KS 41 7 FL 41 5 MD 39 4 NE 38 3 ND 30 3 TN 29 3 MT 29 2 ID 29 2 CO 28 2 NV 21 2 GA 20 3 NH 17 2 TX 16 3 NM 16 1 UT 15 2 AK 12 1 MA 11 1 OR 6 2 AL 5 1 KY 2 1 NC 1 1 HI 1 1
Number one ranked wrestlers by state:
103 - PA 112 - NJ 119 - AZ (#2 - PA) 125 - OH 130 - OH 135 - MI (#3 - NJ) 140 - NJ 145 - PA 152 - PA 160 - PA 171 - OH 189 - NJ 215 - OK (#3 - PA) 285 - PA
Notice there are NO numbers ones from KS and nearly EVERY number one was able to compete in BofE, Ironman, or RTOC. (The lone exception being Nieman from Michigan (a state worse than ours. They don't allow ANY travel outside of their border.)

I find it interesting that they count the state where the wrestler attends school. I can see why they count it, but it would be even more interesting to see where the kids have done the majority of their training.
