The back and forth discussion on the sportsmanship issue is interesting! If this kid doesn’t have a history of this type of behavior after a loss, I think we should cut him some slack. The “In the heat of the battle” and the “I’ve seen worse” argument however are just excuses. I wonder how Nitcher handled his loss in the finals, or the majority of other wrestlers on the high school and college level that lost hard fought matches this weekend? Unfortunately this stuff does happen occasionally, just learn from it and move on.
I think the famous quote from Supreme Court Justice, Potter Stewart, is applicable to poor sportsmanship,
“I know it when I see it”
