Neosho County Community College will take on Hastings College of Nebraska in an NJCAA vs NAIA showdown on Wednesday night in Beloit, KS at the high school in Beloit for a neutral site showdown!

The more bodies the merrier, as this event will be like a homecoming to many of us with our Head Coach Wayne Petterson being a Beloit alumn, Cody Eaton a wrestler on our team from Bennington, and myself being an old Chapman grad, not to mention Jameon Rush of Hastings is a Clay Center alumn.

Great chance to see college wrestling come to the District 3 area.

7pm start time.

Reminder that tonight is the dual in Beloit. Both teams are traveling to meet up at a neutral site for the 2nd year in a row. Last year we were at Clay Center. This is a great opportunity to catch college wrestling, and I know both teams would appreciate the support of a good sized crowd.

Thanks to all the great people from Beloit and the surronding areas for the great support. Saw many familiar faces from North Central Kansas area. Was a great night of college wrestling. By the way a quick run down for those not able to make it, Hastings was open at 3 weights due to injury at 125, 133, and 141. Neosho then added to the lead with a decision at 149 followed by a major decision and pin at 157 and 165 respectively. 174 Jameon Rush won by fall for Hastings in a homecoming atmosphere, before Neosho recorded another fall at 184 in a wildly high scoring affair that actually had the Hastings wrestler in control down the stretch. 197 Hastings won by fall, and Neosho pulled out a 3-1 squeaker in overtime to win the dual 40-12.

Neosho is next home Monday vs. OCU at 7pm. If you would like to attend with your high school team, please email me at asweazy@neosho.edu
