We want to thank all the great people of Ark City after what happened Thursday night during the Valley Center and Ark City dual. We now know what is meant by a “true wrestling family”.
Our son took an accidental blow to his eye during one of the matches. At the end of the first period he dropped and collapsed on the mat. He then went into a seizure and was immediately attended by the Valley Center coaches, Ark City AD and Dr. Aaron Watters. Dr. Watters took the time with my son and got him around enough for us to get him to the hospital. He called the emergency room and let them know we were coming and they greeted us right away. Within a few minutes my son was in X-Ray and had a head and neck scan. Long story short, he will be fine and will continue wrestling the rest of the season.
We have never met Dr. Watters, but we want to commend him on what a great job he did with our son. He is now a true friend.
After the match the look on Trey Dice’s face was heartbreaking. We could tell he did not do this maliciously and was very concerned. We received a phone call from Mr. Dice later in the evening expressing his concerns. What a class act.
This will forever be instilled in our memory of what wrestling is truly about.
Thanks again to all the people who showed they cared; it meant so much to our family.
