NEWTON — Seth Dylan Klein, 18, died Sunday (Feb. 14, 2010) in Sedgwick County. He was born on Dec. 14, 1991, in Wichita to Daniel and M’Lisse (Peterson) Klein.

Seth was a senior at Newton High School, where he served as vice president of the student body. He also was a member of the NHS wrestling team. Seth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and participated in the church youth group. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his friends. Art and music were important to Seth. He was involved in service projects and was active in Big Brothers and Big Sisters. His family was very important to him, and he enjoyed spending time with them and sharing his cooking skills. Seth was a kind and generous person who made friends easily. He will be missed by many for his generous ways.

Survivors include his parents, M’lisse and Daniel Klein of Wichita; sister, Danielle Klein of Newton; brother, Elijah Klein of Sacramento, Calif.; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Kedda Klein of Goddard, and maternal grandparents Stan and Kay Peterson of Wichita; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Latter Day Saints Auburn Hills Building in Wichita with Bishop Austin Babcock officiating.

A private family burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Memorial funds may be sent to the Kansas State University Center for Basic Cancer Research in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., Newton, KS 67114.

This is a shame. I will be going back to Newton to help show my support for the team this weekend. It seems like Seth had a lot in front of him and it is never good for some one to go this young.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Seth Klein family. Seth was a great kid, excellent student, kind and generous soul, good friend, great teacher/wrestler. Thank you Seth for all that you did for the NHS wrestling team and my son, Never Forgotten and Gone Too Soon. Please, keep the Newton High School wrestling team and their coaches in your thoughts and prayers, as well. Thank You.
