Rossville Notes:

The team race is pretty wide open at this point with 4 team in the running with 100 plus points. I bet Minneapolis is missing the approximately 25 points Omli gets them at tournaments.

What happened to Hackett of Minneapolis at 135, his absence is keeping them from racing to the finish line with a team trophy?

This appears to be the best Rossville team since that run in 2002 and 2003. I could see quite a few of these kids walking away with state medals. The same can be said for Minneapolis which has been a bit down since the days of Shawn Drennan.

Daniel Rhodes of Oskaloosa had a 0-0 record coming into the tournament at 171 and now has ticket to western Kansas with 4 consecutive wins. Including victories over the number 1, 8, and 5 seeds in the bracket. Now he just have to beat the 2nd seed.

Looks like Randy Hinderliter is going to coach in Hays next weekend with David Green of Central Heights making finals at heavyweight. Hinderliter must have pulled some seeding meeting magic to get a 10-8 kid a number 1 seed.

Jayhawk-Linn qualified their 285, Eli Walrod. If I remember correctly this is their 2nd heavy weight and 6th state qualifier all of them coming at the 2 heaviest classifications. They also have two state placers to their credit. Not bad for a 4 year old program.
