I hope everyone understands how important to wrestling this could be. In fact, for years our kids organization should have been supporting a lobby similar to this. It is not fair to our wrestlers that the KSKSAA restricts participation outside of jr. high programs. Jr High or middle school wrestling is needed to feed many high school programs because it gives an entirely free opportunity for kids in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grades to try wrestling. Lets face it the quality of this wrestling is far below what our USA programs have to offer. What would be wrong with allowing kids to compete in both? Almost every other state in the country allows their athletes to suplement their school program with club participation and unattached meet participation. It is time we push Kansas to do the same. Lets get something started!!
