Flights are planned to depart from KC on Thursday May 27th arriving in the afternoon to Oakland, CA. The wrestlers will return to Kansas City on Monday, May 31st.
If you like Greco you will love this event! You get up to 10 Greco matches in two days! The first day is a dual team event. Last year we took a MoKan All Star team and defeated teams from Oregon, California, Germany, Poland, and the USA All Star team. I have funding in place to cover the four nights hotel. There will be four wrestlers to a room. Coach Tom Peterman will be chaperoning and coaching the athletes.
Here is the challenge…Because it is on Memorial Weekend the airfare if $478 round trip to Oakland. The CYC provides ground transportation, I have the hotels covered so wrestlers will need food and spending money as well as airfare. I am seeking sponsors to help with the airfare and I hope to get it down to around $300. However, I MUST buy the tickets from Southwest Airlines today. It is a little under $7000 for 14 tickets and I don’t want to do this if we aren’t going to have a full team. I have listed those who have expressed interest and some possible candidates that come to mind. I need commitments TODAY or I cannot justify fronting this much money for these tickets as they will be non refundable. I can change the names on them up until 48 hours before flight time.
Please get back to me TODAY if you are interested or if you know who might be. Wrestlers can be 19 years old so some college FR are eligible. If you have a wrestler interested let me know, even if there is a name listed. Only Chris Watson and Jeff Vesta have confirmed.
If you know of any sponsors or you are interested in sponsoring this event please let me know as well.
THANKS!!!
