Chief, leave my 401K alone! You switched all my stocks to "aggressive" and I wanted them in "low risk."
How in the heck did you figure out my password and birthday and my mother's maiden name???
You are pretty darn good and I don't know how you did it, but if you do it again I'm gonna scalp you and hang you from the totem pole and burn your tee-pee!
Sincerely, Smoke-Free Cabin

June Bug - I have never had a topic moved - Until these 3 - you make the call - someone moved them. As far as on short or long, investors, financial advice. Look at what large "to big to fail" business sectors had to be bailed out - http://bailout.propublica.org/main/list/index. Again you make the call. Must be a new program that just groups anything with smokeycabin in or smoke-free cabin. Those interested in wrestling in Park Hill Duals! Sean, I can help you fill your teams. You don't have to post your advertisement on my thread. Good thing my company is not on that bailout list. We are the last man standing on Wall Street!

Thanks for the link on the staggering amount of bail out money paid ! But as you read those numbers it is important to remember that according to Doug747, Labor Unions are actually the “NUMBER ONE” thing wrong with our economy??

Add me to the list of people who agree with Doug747. It might be the most accurate thing Doug has ever stated.

Stevie Wonder, we do NOT lock people in factories with no windows, and make them work 20 hour days anymore. This is not the 1920s. Unions have long ago burned up their usefulness. Union members, for the most part, are not the problem. Union leaders that create controversy, in order to make the union members think that they (the union leaders/negotiators) are earning their keep, are the problem.
Widget Inc-"we will offer your members a month of paid vacation per year, full insurance benefits, no copay, and $100 per hour"
Union negotiator goes to the press, hold a press conference and says "this company is making record profits, and they offer us this kind of crap. These union workers should be insulted by such an outrageous offer"
And the cycle goes on................

Really Doug, Widget Inc - actually existed??? There is a kid Jared wrestled against from Missouri who's dad works for Ford. We talked last year, he doesn't understand all that talk that idoit drug addict on the radio (who makes $50 mill a year) said about them being so over paid. It was something like no pay raises in the last 5 years and numerous give backs. Strictly middle classs. Yes, in the 70's when we had protectionism and more trade restrictions Unions asked for alot and management gave it to them. Things have changed totally. Unions have very little power anymore and have not for years. That is probably why the average CEO made about 30 times what the average worker made in the 1980. Now it is lke 340 times what the average worker makes. And, we see what the best and brightest on WallStreet (who make more then you and Will combined and then some lol) did to our economy. Unions are a keystone of democracy - it is the Unions that dictators on the left and right get rid of when they take power. It was the Unions that chased out Communism in Poland. See you this weekend - remember weekends - courtesy of the Labor Union movement. How soon we forget - and this crap belongs on the other forum - but you guys started it. Good luck to all this weekend.

John, you just stick to roughing up prisoners, leave the politics to us.............
I like the idea of making exactly what I am worth, not making what the union says I should make. Funny you mention Ford, I have relatives at the KC plant, and they have a completely different opinion of unions. We wonder why work is farmed out to overseas plants? Unions have priced companies out of the market.
I guess I should form or join a union so I wouldn't have to put the weekend or evening time in that I do to make ends meet.
Now back to wrestling.

What Wall Street did to our economy?
Look further than the revisionist history that is being spoon fed in our schools. Open the books called almanacs. They can't change them.
If you load a couple of decades' worth of this data in a spreadsheet, you'll see what I mean. You might also realize that Democratic economic theory has shifted dramatically to the left since the 1960's. Jack Kennedy's economic policy was just as supply-side as Reagan's and just as successful. It was Carter's "share the wealth" goals that broke the economic engine of America--just like Obama is doing now. But both could only accomplish that with Democrats heavily dominating both Senate and House which were focused on increasing tax rates beyond what the American public could tolerate.
These macroeconomic theories are bunk because they leave out consideration of the fundamentals. These fundamentals have held true for every economy since at least the middle ages, whether run by kings, native village chiefs or presidents of socialist dictatorships or democracies.
One, if you take too much of what people earn, they will stop earning by going on the "dole" or moving away or going underground. Two, the size of the economic "pie" is never fixed--it's either growing or shrinking. Keynes' macro theory completely leaves out the affects of taxation levels. It also ignores that most people are smart enough to realize when they're being robbed or cheated.
Even a 3-year-old will react if he "earns" two pennies and you come along and "take" one of them away. I dare you to test that. The government can't "fix" the size of the pie in order to share "too much" of it without causing shrinkage. That is, if it tries to share too much of the peoples hard-earned wealth, they leave. Then your economy shrinks. We only have to look at the collapsed Soviet and Chinese economies of 20 years ago to see that Obama-Pelosi-Reid-onomics will follow the Soviet and Chinese "controlled" economies.
Look at California over the last five years to see where OPR-onomics is taking us. That is because overtaxed economies fail--just like the pre-revolution economies of France (when Louis lost his head), Britain (King Charles lost his head, King George lost America and all of the European countries that followed similar patterns.
We need to switch to a national sales tax (not on foods or medicines) that is the same for everyone. That will eliminate the overhead cost of running the IRS (at $20 Bil each year as of 20 years ago), lobbying costs to businesses trying to sway politicians for "tax breaks," accounting costs of businesses and individuals so that more people can be hired to produce goods or services instead of counting the beans for the government and looking for loopholes.
If such a thing is ever accomplished, we'll see another 100 years of economic growth without boom or bust.

www.fairtax.org Read the FAQ and it will answer all of your questions about the Fair Tax, which is a National sales tax that takes the place of income tax, social security tax, payroll tax, etc. and still brings in the same amoutn of revenue, so all current "entitlements" are still funded. We have approximately $20-27% worth of embedded taxes in every product we purchase, so when you remove those, and add back in the Fair Tax, 23%, you are going to pay about the same for your products, but you'll have your ENTIRE paycheck to purchase them with. Plus there is a "prebate" that "untaxes" your spending up to the poverty level, so it basically completely untaxes the poor. What it does that keeps it from being passed TODAY, is it takes power awa from government.
