Ah, you all must be talking about being a high school administrator. Although I completely miss coaching (and teaching), I LOVE my job as an administrator. I am now principal of an intermediate school (5th/6th) with approximately 400 kids. I'm working just as hard every day, but my hours are much less than as a high school assistant principal (and wrestling coach).

I left what I believe was one of the best coaching gigs around for more time with my family and don't regret it for a minute. You pretty much have to know if it feels right or not. I also think that officiating has been a great way to feel in touch with the greatest sport on Earth. Talk about going completely to the dark side, though!

Pittsburg High might be leading the way. Bob Warkentine (former 5a coach of the year) is an assistant principal, Jon Bishop who has coached wrestling is the princial, and Doug Hitchcock ( former Buhler high school wrestling coach) is the athletic director.

They also have one of the best coaches in kansas, Scott Rieck along with a college all american, Marcus Bowman as an assistant coach.

look for big things to come!
