"The marquee match-up of the evening was at 141 pounds where seniors, Patrick McLemore (Hinckley, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) and Tristen DeShazer (Wichita Kan./Wichita West), squared off. Both are national qualifiers, with DeShazer moving up a weight class. With the match tied at 1-1 after the third period, McLemore scored a takedown in overtime to win, 3-1."
Two senior national qualifiers battling for a spot? Sounds pretty rough

How many times has Tristen made it to the NCAA's now? Has he All Americaned yet or is he battling the 4x State Champion curse at the college level?
Enlighten Me!

He has made it to the NCAA's once his sophomore year and was ranked numerous times in the top 15 or so. His junior year he battled a shoulder injury and had surgery and did not qualify. This year looks really tough as its basically two of NIU's best (and two NCAA qualifiers) battling for the starting spot at 141 .. We'll see what happens

DeShazer is well known on the D1 circut as being a dangerous wrestler. I believe I saw last year he now has the career pin record at NIU.
