On The Mat: I bow to you infinite wisdom. You are right and I am wrong. How I could I have so thoughless and ignorant? My years at IMAC were a waste I know nothing. Thank you, oh thank you for setting me straight. You are the smartest man in Kansas, and because of that you are, again, wise to hide your true identity.

On The Mat: Like a lot of the subjects on this board, I am having a serious issue with this.
this is a Kansas forum of which I am much more aware of happenings here than you who resides in Iowa and chooses to try and get involved in matters you think you know about and disgust you. You didnt take the time to fully read what i had written or try to understand my perspective-- just felt you needed to assume I am only bashing and not attempting to serve a greater purpose which other kids may learn from also. You then went on and on about your ties to IMMAC in your need to gain credibility. Instead of being snide, you could attempt to realize that 1) many schools were affected by snowstorm yet had wrestlers compete in tourneys this weekend in Northeast KS area. 2) the point i was trying to make about one's individual desire to WANT to compete in a tourney of this magnitude and to 3)do what it takes to get that opportunity to compete against the best or even to watch them is IMPORTANT and 4) being so far overweight you arent in ballpark range to cut and dont even give yourself that chance to compete and to 5) also affect your team DOES matter. ~ or 6) maybe it doesn't, ...and that is what i am trying to say. Believe it or not--I want good things for these kids but you for some reason cant grasp that as you are too busy talking about your greatness at Leavenworth Immaculata and how your teams beat up ACCHS but your great respect for them as well as your own personal weather event tourney .

On the Mat,
You are starting to cross some lines here. Coach Holmes put in a lot a time at IMMAC, developed some great young men who went on to become great people. Sad how narrow-minded you must be, that your measure for success in life is dictated by a four year window of how you did in wrestling.
Had it not been for Coach Holmes' dedication to those kids, the program would have folded and those kids would not have had the opportunity to participate in wrestling. Of course, you would not know that because you are ignorant and small-minded. You have no idea what it takes to coach a high school program. Oh you might think you know because of your impressive resume, but there isn't a coach in this state that will let you come on here and bash the efforts of somebody else's work.
You asked a simple question as to why ACCHS was not at Basehor. I am sure the AD's between the two schools are in communication and a decision will be made on whether they will be invited back next year. Maybe ACCHS should give another team an opportunity next year since they did not fulfill their commitment this year. That is what we would do, but it is beteen ACCHS & BLHS now.
You had no right to personally attack Coach Holmes, especially since you don't have the guts to post your name.
If you have any desire to retain any credibility on this board, you will apologize to Coach Holmes, the IMMAC program and the wrestling community for your ignorance and cheap insults.

Dewitt, read the 6 points i made. No apology is needed for the valid points i made. Did i bash Coach Flores or the ACCHS program ? No. And i beg to differ as i do know what it takes to run a HS program. If i recall, he chose to call me gutless. Of course, i responded to that... You feel you need to tell me to apologize ?

i think the point that you are missing on the mat, is that your questions were answered, very frankly. we can all tell that you didn't care for the answer you got. you need to get over it and move on. you are really digging a deeper hole with each new post. i can see that somehow feel by questioning the heart and work ethic of these young men, and the decision making ability of their coach, that you are attempting to motivate them. good intentions i am sure, but i don't think you are coming across very clear.

That's an interesting way to motivate individuals. I'm sure you were quite the coach.

It would be asinine for me to question Coach Flores as he is one of the top Coaches in the State in my opinion and has directed State Tourney championship teams many times over. He has turned out tons of great wrestlers and individuals. I am no where near his level in that regards. I apologize as I let my zeal for the sport get the best of me. My intentions where good but came across negative about a point of hoping that an individual would be in ballpark range to make weight and want to compete at a high caliber tourney, something any Coach cant always control. I am very sorry to anyone i have offended. I was also attacked and felt the need for a rebuttal and got out of hand. Mr Holmes, I am also sorry. I truly love the sport and what it can do for youth and have an immense amount of respect for those that help to mentor and inspire youth to a better station in life. ..again, I am sorry. I am certainly not perfect and have to learn to keep my mouth shut sometimes. I am sincerely sorry to the Effingham contingency and really love seeing you all do well and wish your squad the best. I beg your forgiveness. I am human. Kevin Calhoon

Who cares. The coach and the school administration decided not to go because they thought that was best for their team, The tournament went on fine without them.
