acually a scale does not measure by ounces it measures by 1/10 of a pound so for every tenth of a pound ='s 1.6 ounces. So if your boy was .2 over it would be 3.2 ounces over.

alot of people when the see .5 they assume its 5 ounces but it would be 8 ounces = to a 1/2 pound.

.1= 1.6 ounces
.2=3.2 ounces
.3=4.8 ounces
.4=6.4 ounces
.5=8 ounces=1/2 pound
.6=9.6 ounces
.7=11.2 ounces
.8=12.8 ounces
.9=14.4 ounces
.10 well we know thats not on a scale because it would = 16 ounces wicth would be a pound.

i hope math class with nix was helpful i sure hope my figures are right
