Bronson - What I learned when we transferred from West to East is that in Western Kansas you had a lot more individual "duals" and less tournament or dual tournament events. Because of the point system, that affords you less matches. Duals were the "norm" in the past, but because of the point system structure that is imposed, the coaches that want their wrestlers to get more matches are trending away form the traditional duals. My son has received an ungodly amount of "byes" this year that do not count toward his record, and he has still competed in 45 matches already with a possibly of 2 to 5 left at state giving him 47 to 50 matches for the year. When we were out west, he finished the state tournament with a total of 38 matches.
