At the 5A/6A state tournament the hospitality room for coaches was almost non-existent. Was this a trend at all the state tournaments? They had 3 coolers of drinks, and by that I literally mean 3 coolers of drinks, per day, for all the coaches in 5A and 6A. A bowl of candy, bowl of pretzels, and a jar of mints. The second day they put out what can only be described as "sloppy seconds" (old honey-buns, etc.) Last year we were charged $10 but at least got to eat a decent meal. I was extremely disappointed with it. Any thing anyone would like to add?

I have something to add. It was FREE! It was also alot better than you are saying. Pizza, Pop, Salad, Chips, Cookies, etc. I'm not sure what your complaining about. You could have paid $11 for Chicken Fingers and a Soda like my 11 year old did. Quit complaining.

You must have been in a different hospitality room than the rest of us, but what you describe was most definately NOT in the room for the coaches.

There were several coaches, officials, administrators, and workers in the room I was in and described.

Was it for coaches or the one for "tournament staff and table workers only". I guess I should have just gone where I wanted and eaten. The room marked solely for coaches had nothing.

Rumor has it that if you wanted a meal in the 4A hospitality room, it cost $8. They had pretzels and snack stuff, but meals actually cost. That sucks!

Is it a rumor or do you know. $8.00 is not bad for a meal. Like I stated earlier, chicken fingers, fries and a soda was $11.00. Sounds like you did get a pretty good deal. Kills me how people complain about free. Does the state really owe you a free meal, with all the budget problems they are facing. Teachers losing jobs and your complaining that you didn't get a free meal.

Beeson, It is obvious you were one of the "lucky" who did get a free meal (of which you say we should not expect). For the rest of us, we got nothing. We had to pay the prices that you talked about at the concessions. When you are running around during the tournament it sucked not having an option besides concession food. I am sure people realize the state is having money issues, we are not stupid. As I stated in my previous post, I have no problem paying for a meal (like last year at Intrust), what I do have a problem with is not having an option. Please read what is said instead of just talking down at people.

321A at hays had an excellent room that was well stocked. On Friday we had Chili and Chicken Noodle soup and on Saturday we had spaghetti and meat balls. Both days were free. I am quite pleased with the way coaches and refs are treated at the hays site.

If they want to charge they need to call is a concession stand or a restaurant.
