What was the purpose of usd 259 charging teams to use the wrestling rooms. Didn't the tax payers already give them enough after all if it weren't for them they wouldn't have gotten those brand new football fields. Just wondering
This is not uncommon in many districts today. That is why it is imperative that clubs give back to their high school/middle school programs with the donation of time, money and effort. It is also important to have club members regularly attend school board meetings so that some of these anti-little league policies are headed off before they are enacted. Right now I would suggest that everyone write carefully worded letters to the school board members expressing your dissapointment at such a policy. Suggesting that you will be exploring transferring your child to a neighboring district that has no such policy can be used as well. School districts are much like retail businesses because they are reimbursed tax dollars from the state on a per-pupil basis. The one thing they understand is declining enrollments and the effect they have on their budgets. So let your feet do the talking by taking your kids to another district if that is at all possible.
That's not really true sportsfan... Ed and I have had a team in usd259 for 17years. We have donated time talent and money both personally and as a team many times. Ed and I sit on Many boards and committees for the district. And we definitely pay our Share of taxes. We wrote letters and our head coach Spoke up too. It did t make any difference. It has all come down to the almighty $.
But you are one club out of how many in the 259 district? If you were in a smaller suburban school district I believe it would have made a difference. Also, this is a problem for all sports, not just wrestling, so certainly in a district the size of 259 you need the involvment of all of the different sports to fight this.
