Chief,
First time I logged in this year. STA ranked 6th all class, with 4 ranked all class? No real studs like they have had in the past.

Quiet a mix up in the 106lb class. Did Parker and Dakota lose a arm or leg over the weekend. Just wondering how those freshmen jumped over them?

Well Parker Howell lost to Tristan Star at Fall Brawl. Adam Cole beat Star at Kids State. I don't understand why Logan Terrill isn't up there? He beat Star at Fall Brawl and lost to Cole at Kids.

Chief,

Ok, that explains why Howell dropped but why did Leach drop?

Fall brawl made 106 pretty interesting...Kids might have lost head to head then beat two others that the kid who beat them lost to. I don't know that I explained that well but you can look at the bracket.

Chief,
First time I logged in this year. STA ranked 6th all class, with 4 ranked all class? No real studs like they have had in the past. How long ago? Eric Mason is a returning state champ. Isaac Dulgarian is a potential 4xer. Tommy Williams is a multi All American at Fargo who will make a run for a title his senior year. Luke Henes will be in the hunt as well. That is just off of the top of my head. They won state as a team, the last time, without any champions so I would say they are known more for their depth than for individual studs. I believe they have a couple of 2xer's and half dozen or so other state champs in the past 25 years. Good luck to the Saints this year.

I believe this is what Mr.Pursel was trying to say:
Champ. Round 1 - Logan Terrill (Kansas) won by decision over Tristan Star (Kansas) (Dec 3-2) Cons. Round 4 - Mitchell McKee (Minnesota) won by major decision over Logan Terrill (Kansas) (Maj 11-2) Cons. Round 5 - Tristan Star (Kansas) won by decision over Mitchell McKee (Minnesota) (Dec 5-3) 3rd Place Match - Jonah Eide (Iowa) won by decision over Tristan Star (Kansas) (Dec 3-1) Champ. Round 2 - Logan Terrill (Kansas) won by decision over Jonah Eide (Iowa) (Dec 8-1)
Then to add to the confusion Howell beat Mckee and then Star beat Howell.

Logan Terrill is right outside the rankings. Yes, he beat Star and then lost to a kid 11-2 that Star beat in that same bracket! In that kids state bracket he lost to Cole and Goldenstein. That Fall Brawl bracket proved that we are in for quite a few changes out of that 106 class. I have spent THE MOST time on that weight this past week.

Yes, but what about Leach? He didn't go to the Brawl so he was "punished"? If that is the case I understand, but he does start on his soccer team right now and he is really good. Others are in FB or CC and couldn't/didn't go either. Many of them, including Leach, wrestled in the spring and during the summer though, went to Kid's, Brute, SP, camps, the Duals, etc.

It's just a result of adding a wrestler to that weight. Tristan Star was added after his win over the #1 ranked Howell. I then went over my research on the incoming freshmen. That improved Cole and DeShazer. It was a challenge to determine how far Howell would drop. In all that mix, Leach dropped a bit. I am a Dakota fan and have him at #2 in 5A.

The Railroaders of Newton should make some noise this year. Everyone from last years state team is back for another year along with a few new state bound wrestlers this year.

Newton will be tough. They have several very good wrestlers back. It should be an interesting year for Newton. AC and 5A Ranked: 120 - Harrison 138 - Johns 182 - McConnell 195 - Archer These guys should contribute well, with a real chance to place: 113 - Ramos-Thaw - 5A ranked 126 - Magana 132 - Monares - Almost 5A ranked 145 - McEachern - 5A ranked 170 - Langley - Almost 5A ranked 220 - McConnell 285 - Lee - Almost 5A ranked

10-4 Chief, I get it. And believe me, I am not trying to break your b..... I love the rankings and you are the authority. Its just Leach was #5 and now #8 after Howell dropped. So he dropped even though he didn't lose. I get it, he is #2 in 5A. That would seem logical if we could say for sure that Howell could beat him. I have some reliable sources that would refute that based on some recent practices that both attended. It is all good though. Leach like Peterson like Hughey like etc. will have a chance to prove themselves as actions do speak louder than words.

Chief, Ball is home schooled and would of been a freshmen last year for Great Bend High School. What do you know about his status for this year? Is he going to attend school? He is one tough cookie.
