Perhaps you just mistitled this post? I have seen many crazy Mom's AND Dad's matside. Any parent who is on the mat and misbehaving should be asked to leave. I have been matside during all of my sons' matches. I have had my coach's card, Bronze card and I'll even throw in a teaching certificate and an ungodly amount of time spent with children under the age of 12. I have coached baseball, softball & soccer. But as a Wrestling Mom, if I yell (which is rare) I repeat what the coach says to my kid. I am like eeboysmom, I think that my kid hears my voice over all others because he is used to hearing me. I encourage sportsmanship in my son. I tell him to treat every wrestler he encounters as if he/she were the best wrestler in the state. (He'll tell you this!)
My son went through several seasons of rough behavior when he lost a match - I dealt with this off the mat and out of the gym because it was not tolerated by me. He's self-motivated and his own toughest critic.
My point... please don't limit your crazy parent status to just Moms!
