I don't understand the reason for this post. It appears that you have a beef with the officials of wrestling why don't you get some tournaments your self and see how hard it is to do.

Chill out Mr.RIce the video is all in good fun. I got a good kick out of it. Refereeing is not that hard to do, and yes I have done it before.

Too funny at the end where he's doing a dry run through all the signals.
Will loves officials, he's always trying to help us be better.

I personally got a kick out of watching the Kansas Mat Slapping Legend teach a clinic in warming up to all those youngsters. Thanks for sharing the link.

Didn't I see Will ref at the Salina kid's tourney?? (I think he got kick out.) He has ref'ed, if you agree or not, he has earned the right to make a comment.

That guy looks REALLY familiar. He's probably reffed a few of your matches seeing as he is a Butler County resident. Heck he's probably thunder slapped the mat after a few of them.

I am not sure where the beef comes in as far as this post is concerned. It is on themat.com and I didn't post it there. It is being watched nationwide. I didn't have a thing to do with making it. I thought it was funny and that even the official would enjoy it as I know he likes honey. I have done my share of officiating (at least 50 tournaments and some of them for free to help clubs out.) I think it is the easiest sport there is to officiate. Only two competitors, small rule book, easy to understand rules, same playing field no matter where you go, usually not a ton of scoring... I think the beef must be something personal...you tell us.

Will not a personal beef, I agree the video is pretty funny but it seems that you post alot about the officials not being able to do their job. and yes I have seen you ref before so I know you know what it takes, even though officiating any sport is not easy. Also at least you know who I am when I post something unlike others on this forum. All in good fun Will if you can GIG others you can take a GIG. HAHA!!!

That was awkward. One thing I could figure out, the push up count, by the standards, held steady at zero.

That was funny -and embarrasing! Nothing wrong with the warm up per se, but I would do those some place private!
the hand motions were a hoot with the music.
We are funny creatures!

Ok, dang it, I finally broke down and watched that video. That was awesome.
I kind of have a long standing policy to not engage myself in youtube type stuff. It is usually not necessary anyway because the wrestling forum is so entertaining, probably more entertainment than anyone should be allowed to have, and I kind of feel like if I engaged in too much entertainment, I must surely be doing something wrong. Anyway, I finally couldn't resist and the deed is done.
Yes, I cracked up, but if that was bona fide and not just choreographed, I have to give it up for this guy. He really takes pride in his work. At least he cares enough to loosen up his body, etc, and in front of people no less, so that he is ready to get in the right position, etc. And there are a lot of other comments that I could make with regard to that and officials, etc, but they would obviously be derogatory and I don't want to be the pot calling the kettle black.

The first time I saw this guy warming up, I wasn't too engaged until I saw him warming up his fingers, awarding points, reversals, etc. I asked the guy next to me if he saw what I saw, and he confirmed it............You never know when you'll get carpul tunnel with those quick, repetitious, reversal motions......
The guy does do a good job of refereeing though.....or at least from what I've seen
BTW, before I ever saw the video, I knew who it was going to be......

By the coach's popular demand, this act will move to Wichita for the 6A state tournament!! Someone please continue the video taping of this warm up routine!

We considered, well I did, a warm-up chorus line of officials doing an imitation of this warm-up at league, but it got voted down ....
Lots of folks have seen it, nearly all that mention it enjoy it...
