This is purely a guess on my part but I would say this is a result (at least in part), of the committee that was assigned the task of dealing with the private school multiplier question. In addition, I would bet this is intended to deal with football only or primarily and all other sports classifications would remain somewhat the same as they currently are.
I do agree with this statement Sports. I think we have bigger fish to fry and I think that 7 state champions in football is a joke as well. There should be just ONE 8 man state championship team! Honestly, I don't think there should be 8 man football! A school that cannot field an 11 man team should combine with other schools until they can! For the population that we have in KS I would think that 4 state champions team sports would be plenty.
As far as the private school bias, when everyone votes for either vouchering or allows those who PAY for private school to have a property tax reduction then it should be a mute point! Give me a fifty percent tax reduction on my property taxes if my kids are going to a private school and I will gladly bump up a class!
