Most junior college coaching contracts are 1 year contracts that are renewed each year.
Almost all 4 year schools coaching contracts are for multiple years.
That is why you have big buyouts in major universities.
If you fire a coach at most junior colleges you just pay out that year, which is definately not multi-million dollars.
