At the end of the season each school gets to have one team of, at most, 14 wrestlers. They will be the best, eligible wrestlers at their weight for their school. It doesn't matter whether they got their mat time in KS, OK, MO, IA, CO, TX, NE, or wherever within 500 miles of the KS border. It doesn't matter whether their matches were against JV, Varsity, third stringers, or just practice partners. They will battle 7, 15, 14 or ?? (321A regionals are not as fixed) other teams to see if they can place in the top 4. If they do they will travel to Hays, Salina or Wichita in late February and hope that all they have sacrificed and worked hard for will get them onto or to the top of the podium on March 1st.
